News from Switzerland. Jerry He completed Baking and Pastry course last spring semester and now he works in Restaurant Les Trois Couronnes (Vevey) as kitchen trainee. Popa Dan (Diploma) did an excellent job before Jerry, that is why the company hired another internship student from HTMi. Work hard, be excellent that is how you can open doors for others and make everybody be proud of You.The Restaurant Les Trois Couronnes has been awarded it’s first star in the Swiss guide Michelin 2013. Jerry has opportunity to work with a Michelin star chef, chef Lionel Rodriguez. And we are sure that this experience is going to help him with his further career.

The Swiss College of Hospitality Lenk is owned by Sirius Hospitality Services, a Swiss hospitality company specializing in hotel, resort and restaurant management, one of large Swiss hospitality group, including hotels, restaurants and hotel schools. Furthermore, with strong industry-oriented board of SHML, the President of GHM group and chairman of Swiss-Belhotel International, SHML has secured partnerships with some international hotel companies. These partnerships allow qualifying students to intern within these hotels and resort companies throughout the World, thereby increasing their chances for an entry position on completion of their Associate degrees and Bachelor degrees.

這次瑞士商辦事處(TOSI) 主辦台灣瑞士校友會,這是第一次也是最棒及成功的校友會3/12/2015在台北東方文華飯店舉辦, 將近100多位校友參加 Alumni event, 大家齊聚一起 好 開心,我們 期待下次再聚.
The Trade Office of Swiss Industries (TOSI), in collaboration with swissnex China and Alumni UZH Taipei, organized a Swiss Alumni Event in Taipei, Taiwan, the 12th of March 2015. Nearly 100 people who studied in Switzerland and are currently living in Taiwan joined the even.
Swiss Alumni Event in Taipei, 12.03.2015
On March 12, 2015 the first-ever Swiss Alumni Networking Event was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s M.O. Bar in Taipei, Taiwan. The idea of such an event – which was originally brought up by the Trade Office of Swiss Industries (TOSI) and Alumni UZH Taipei (University of Zurich) and quickly supported by swissnex China – was to find as many Swiss alumni in Taiwan as possible and to hold an initial event in order to put the spotlight on Swiss schooling and to give the alumni a platform to network and meet other alumni.
The event was a huge success with almost 100 graduates (75 percent of which were Taiwan citizens) from Swiss universities, hotel schools, business schools and boarding schools joining. Nearly half of the participants (48 percent) graduated from one of the 11 hotel schools that were represented that evening, 43 percent were graduates from 12 different universities and universities of applied science, six guests graduated from two different business schools, and three from two Swiss boarding schools.
The event was opened with speeches from Rolf Frei, director of TOSI, and Pascal Marmier, CEO of swissnex China. The alumni then had plenty of time to network, meet people from their alma mater and mingle, all while drinking a chilled glass of red wine and enjoying finger foods provided by the M.O. Bar.
“It was a real pleasure to get to know so many young and young at heart and learn about the amazing careers they made after graduating in Switzerland” says Rolf Frei, Co-Host of the event.
The organization committee was very happy to see such a high number of participants and would like to thank all the guests for participating. We can only be glad to have given such an opportunity to our Swiss alumni to gather here in Taipei and we are looking forward to preparing the next event for this newly created network.

The countdown has started to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Game’s
The Centre for Events Management Training Switzerland has been off to a busy start. Recently, Mr Anthony Lack, the Events & Training Manager at HTMi visited Sochi, Russia, the venue of 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The purpose of the visit was to meet the senior members of the Sochi Olympic Organising Committee to discuss the organisation of 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Mega sport events such as the Olympic Games require different parties’ effort and expertise working harmoniously to create perfect synergies in order to achieve its high expectations. The 2014 Olympic Games is no exception, it relies heavily on the local community’s cooperation as well as the tremendous amount of thousands of enthusiastic volunteers. There will be many volunteers from around the world who are eager to be apart of this historic event, looking to experience the organisation of the world’s biggest sporting event, this event is aiding the personal developments of many young students.
HTMi, has seen the importance of its students learning and personal development and have been actively involved in many of the world’s biggest events, such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, The 2012 London Olympic Games, the Tour de Suisse 2012.
We at HTMi are very proud to announce our involvement with the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi and to be the chosen institute in Switzerland, by sending many of our excellent students to volunteer during the games. Our students will be exposed to many of the world’s greatest athletes by working in the VIP lounges, the Olympic Family Hotels, with the international media, and lastly working closely with many of the senior members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the National Olympic Committees (NOC). We sincerely believe such an opportunity will not only give our students a fantastic learning experience but we are confident that our students will contribute tremendously to the event’s success.
Within days the world will be watching the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympic Game at Sochi, Russia, especially for a special few who have been working behind the scene for the past few years getting the event ready for the world stage.
